Cohen Psychological Services DBA ICAN is a remote (telehealth) private practice serving all areas of Texas. Looking to hire a skilled psychotherapist to join a growing private practice. Originally headquartered in New York, our practice has pivoted to meet the needs of our clients and has transitioned to fully remote due to the COVID pandemic. While there are certainly pros and cons, one plus is that we are now able to cater to clients in a variety of states, as well as therapists anywhere in the world as long as they are licensed in in the state where the client is located. We also have positions in the following states, and multi-state licensure is a plus. NJ, NY, GA, MA, PA, OH, LA, AR, KS.

Licensed mental health counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists are welcome to apply. Full, independent licensure in Texas as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT or Psychologist is required. At this time, limited permit and LMSW holders will NOT be eligible. If you anticipate licensure in the next 3-6 months, you may still be a good candidate.

We are a collegial bunch and like to hold staff meetings regularly to bounce ideas around and get to know each other. We find that team collaboration reduces feelings of isolation that can occur in private practice, and can elevate care provided to our clients since each clinician has their own unique perspective and skills. This is currently happening via Zoom.

Specialty areas in all age ranges are needed. We treat children, adolescents, emerging adults and up. We also provide couples and family therapy. We see many millennials and college students and are passionate about helping people cope with life transitions with a particular emphasis currently on managing anxiety and trauma related to COVID-19 and it’s numerous impacts.

We value education and training, and occasionally host trainings (some for C.E. credit), and possibilities may exist for the right candidate to teach C.E. courses as well.

There may also be opportunities for psychological and psycho-educational testing for clinical and neuropsychologists (on a limited in person basis).

Due to the remote nature of this position, the candidate will need access to a quiet, HIPAA compliant room as well as stable internet connection and a device to conduct sessions.

Benefits of this position include:

– signing bonus ($1,000 after 90 days of full time employment; $500 for part time employment)

– full administrative support – we provide referrals, EHR, field intake calls, set up client portals, verify insurance and submit claims. We also take care of CAQH, contracting and credentialing. You just see your clients!

First 25 sessions per week = $40 per session ($1,000 per week)

Sessions 26-35 = $50 per session ($500 per week)

Sessions 35+ = $60 per session (unlimited)

To give you a sense of what is possible, a therapist who sees 40 clients per week would earn $7,200 per month, or $93,000 per year. This is not typical, but shows the upper limit if someone is highly motivated. Health insurance and other benefits are eligible after 25 sessions per week.
