Psychiatry Provider – Contract position – Regroup Counseling and Consulting PSC – Remote Part Time

ReGroup Counseling & Consulting PSC is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as an Independent Contractor to join our team!

We are group practice comprised of mental health professionals providing growth-based therapy and skill building for individuals, couples, and the whole family. Our offices are in Elk River and Little Falls and serve children ages 3 and up, adolescents, adults, couples and families. We are in-network with most major insurance companies. ReGroup Counseling is a collaborative group that values providers’ input and supports each provider in their independent practice. We are seeking a contract psychiatry provider (mental health nurse practitioner or psychiatrist) who meets the education requirements and is licensed in Minnesota. Ideally, the candidate would have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing psychiatric services for children, adolescent and adults. This person will have a strong work ethic, likes to be part of team, and enjoys collaboration of care.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment and diagnosis. Provides management of psychiatric diagnosis through medication management and other therapeutic interventions. Collaborates and coordinates care of patients with primary care providers and an interdisciplinary team within the scope of a collaborative care agreement, independently manages an outpatient caseload.

Main Job Duties:

• Perform psychiatric assessment across the lifespan, including diagnostic assessments, ongoing medication management services, treatment planning and follow-up visits with therapy as appropriate.
• Maintain a person-centered approach and act as an advocate for client’s safety, health and wellbeing.
• Coordinate with other health care providers as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all agency, state and federal rules & regulations and professional standards
• Actively engage with clients, developing positive relationships that support the client in meeting their goals.
• Document interactions and interventions with clients, according to program requirements, into the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) that is consistent with documentation and billing standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of requested documentation, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, medication refills, and participating in case consultation meetings)

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or higher in nursing.
• Completion of 30 hours of approved course work in psychopharmacology.
• Medical or Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of training and certification in the PMHNP program.
• Current active and unrestricted State of Minnesota License to practice medicine.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations.
• Ability to diagnose psychiatric disorders in children/adolescents and adults.
• Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by licensing board.

• Manage/monitor patients’ medication usage and results.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Currently licensed in the State of Minnesota.

Additional Knowledge

• Knowledge of psychodynamic theory, psychiatric illness and treatment.
• Knowledge and understanding of family systems, attachment and trauma.
• The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians, the public and other providers.
• An awareness of the laws and liabilities that relate to prescribing, dispensing, and treating the side effects of medications, including psychotropic medications.
