Position Summary

The Human Resource Generalist facilitates the delivery of HR services, provides solutions on HR operational issues, and ensures the organization’s current HR requirements are met.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Recruits and schedules interviews and background checks to facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Performs the routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including new hire orientation, employment processing, employee productivity and recognition, training and development, compensation, benefits, personal leave, employee discipline, and performance management.
• Develops HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information specifically as it pertains to employee benefits, recommending viable courses of action.
• Conducts open enrollment, handles qualifying events, and accurately communicates benefits information to USSEC team members.
• Documents all HR processes completely and accurately.
• Prepares information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Completes special HR projects by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing, and organizing information, communicating project status and issues, resolving concerns, analyzing time and cost issues, and preparing reports.
• Maintains management and employee confidence and protects USSEC operations by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
• Contributes continuously to HR and USSEC success by assisting team members to successfully accomplish their job results.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.

• Proficient with Advanced Microsoft products and related software.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Four or more years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.
• Paylocity experience a plus

Physical Requirements

• Light sedentary office work.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
