Freelance Graphic Designer – Breathe Ventures, LLC – Remote Part Time

VT Advantec is looking for skilled design professionals to help build a growing organization. We are looking for creative people who get marketing and are excited by pushing themselves in an entrepreneurial startup environment. A stellar creative candidate will appreciate and understand what it takes to conceive, design, and execute successful communications that can power a brand’s growth. They will possess skills across digital and traditional media, a competitive temperament, and necessary resourcefulness to take on essential assignments, such as fleshing out a rebranding, redesigning a website, creating email templates, etc. The right candidate will be flexible, imaginative, a jack-of-all-trades, and able to work independently in a style that meshes with other team members. They can quickly take a minimal brief and produce creative and compelling deliverables, as well as supporting rationale and background. They can handle a fast-paced, results oriented environment, accepting direction and constructive criticism, and consistently maintain a high level of professionalism.

How You’ll Contribute:

• Create highly compelling visual assets that magnetizes the audience to the brand — ads, fliers, signs, Instagram posts, email mockups, etc.

• Maintain a clear vision of big picture success as well as current needs and objectives

• Ensure we’re always meeting our audiences’ needs and staying faithful to our brand

• Proactively create clarity and remove barriers in your teammates’ way

• Ensure projects are completed on time, meet your deadlines, and help teammates meet theirs

• Anticipate problems, effectively communicate and address them

• Contribute to brand guidelines and storyboards as needed

What You’ll Do:

• Develop compelling visual assets on time and to spec, such as logo, packaging, and social media advertising elements

• Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, listening especially for customer insights and competitive advantages

• Maintain calm and seek to understand critical feedback, ensure critical discussions are constructive.

• Ensure all feedback, guidelines, and requirements are integrated before the each review session

• Proactively update project plans throughout the week, to ensure visibility and accountability

• Employ a flexible communication approach, using Slack, email, and shared docs as helpful

• Be curious and thoughtful –find opportunities to improve the process and outcome

Experience You Bring:

• You’ve translated complex ideas into authentic and compelling visuals for various audiences

• You tailor assets for various outlets, including print and online ad campaigns, including different social media platforms

• You’re used to working on multiple clients and/or projects at once, potentially in a creative agency setting

• You enjoy participating in brainstorm and review sessions with clients, external vendors or consultants as needed

• You have interest and/or background in a range of industries. You have 5+ years of professional experience in this or similar roles (such as Production Designer or Junior Art Director)

• You like dynamic work environments and/or have experience working with the fast-paced startups

Position Details:

Schedule: Flexible, based on project needs. Typically 8-20 hrs/week with a 2+ week ramp up period on initial assignments, with the potential to extend if needed.

Commensurate with experience, $50-75/hr
