Draftsperson – Christian Wheeler Engineering – Remote Part Time

Christian Wheeler Engineering is seeking committed and enthusiastic applicants for a Draftsperson to join our team in San Diego, California. As a draftsperson, your job is to work with our Building Envelope Department and prepare design details specific to exterior building elements. This work will be periodic and can be performed either remotely or in our San Diego office. With CWE you will have the opportunity to participate in new construction projects ranging from single-family homes, multi-family buildings, higher education buildings, government buildings, and high rises throughout Southern California. Other departments within our firm include geotechnical and materials engineering consulting, materials testing, and special inspection services.

Job Description

· Meet with CWE engineers and architects to discuss project scope.

· Prepare and revise architectural details related to the building enclosure.

· Flexibility to work from home or office.

Qualifications

· 1-2 years of related experience.

· Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and MS Word.

· Familiar with residential and commercial construction and working drawings, as well as general construction details.

· The ability to create design details for architectural plans.

· Flexibility to focus on multiple projects in various stages of design.

· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on assignments and work as a team.

· A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

· Excellent verbal communication skills.
