Digital Project Manager – Bay Area Legal Services – Remote Part Time

Bay Area Legal Services is a regional, non-profit public interest law firm providing the highest quality legal counsel by:

Position Title: Digital Project Manager – Part-Time (Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and a maximum of 29 hours per week)

Office Location: Florida Remote: The position is not required to work at any Bay Area Legal office location, but is required to be a Florida resident.

Bay Area Legal Services is seeking to fill a temporary (16 month grant assignment), part- time Digital Project Manager position to work remotely in Florida.

This role will be responsible and accountable for leading digital projects from conception through to completion. The position will spend their time on a grant-funded project, focused on empowering youth in foster care of their legal rights through the creation of a website, app, and various media. The project is based on the Know Your Rights Guide, an informational guide for teenagers in foster care.

This is a grant-funded position with the term of employment to end on June 30, 2023.

Illustrative Duties

• Provide end-to-end project management for digital projects
• Scope project requirements and prepare budgets
• Develop a detailed project plan and monitor progress
• Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and implement digital projects
• Liaising with relevant stakeholders, writers, curators, vendors, and consultants for the duration of the project
• Conduct user research and usability testing to understand the audience, address the right problem, and implement improvements
• Deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
• Develop support documentation and requirement specifications
• Assist the creation of guided interviews to generate legal documents and forms for external users
• Manage and maintain digital assets (web, app, videos, content etc.)
• Enforce content quality standards and oversee content governance process
• Network and build relationships with others in the legal profession, especially in legal aid and access to justice, to collaborate on solutions to major issues
• Keep current on digital and legal technology, advancements in legal services programs and organizations, internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years proven working experience in a project management role (does not have to be full- time) Associates degree – Business Admin., Project Mgmt., Computer Science, Digital Marketing or related. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficient and proven experience with: o Project management principles o Leading multiple projects and teams
• Demonstrated ability and experience with: o Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, organization, and time management skills o Building effective partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders o Organizational skills, prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines o Written and verbal communication skills o Confidently interface with all levels of staff including executives, managers and staff; in addition to board members, contractors, volunteers, and other outside parties.
• Basic experience/working knowledge of: o Content management systems’ Drupal and/or WordPress, or similar CMS o Web design principles and best practices o Search engine optimization (SEO) best practices o Publishing digital content o Copyediting, proofreading, etc. o User research methods and conducting user research (i.e., interviews, surveys, usability testing, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team
• Desire to work with and understand vulnerable populations accessing civil legal aid services
• Ability to work virtually with a diverse group of people and stakeholders in multiple locations
• Proficient using Microsoft Office products, video conferencing, and related technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a nonprofit organization or law firm.
• Proficient and proven experience with: o Implementing SEO best practices o Using Google search tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, etc.) and

SEO/digital marketing tools (i.e., Ahrefs, Moz, Semrush, etc.) o Using design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, Sketch, or similar tools o Ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues o Using document assembly tools (i.e., Documate, Afterpattern, docassemble, HotDocs, or similar tools)

• Basic experience/working knowledge of: o HTML/CSS, Javascript
• BONUS: 1-2 years’ experience as a legal aid attorney, or family law or housing law attorney OR recent law school graduate with internship, fellowship, and/or clerkship experience OR 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal

Preferred Education/Certification

• Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management

(CAPM)®, or similar project management certification

Compensation

• Depends upon experience, some benefits (403b with match, telemedicine benefits, EAP) reimbursement for mileage.
